Press release 19/05/10:
Local charity Refugee Radio is hosting an African dub and reggae party at the Volks Club to celebrate Refugee Week 2010.
There will be live music from Bakk Lamp Fall, a mixture of Senegalese artists and local musicians from Brighton playing groovy African beats. Support comes from The Cornerstones with their unique Burundian interpretation of acoustic reggae. There will also be DJs on two floors taking in reggae, dub and dance music.
Tickets are just £5 or £4 concessions. The event will help to raise much-needed funds to support the work of Refugee Radio.
Refugee Radio is a Brighton-based charity working to promote better community relations. Immigration was a key issue in the recent election. Refugee Radio tries to look beyond the issue to uncover the human stories of asylum. This event is designed to bring people together through a shared love of music.
